Prescott College Recognized as a Top Ten School for Sustainability Studies

Emphasis on 100% renewable and sustainable energy sets Prescott College apart.

Prescott College has been named a top ten school for Sustainability Studies by Green Living magazine. The College was recognized alongside such large entities as Arizona State University and Portland State University, demonstrating a far-reaching and all-encompassing program that belies its size. Prescott College generates most of its power through solar collection and the remaining electricity needs are generated with other renewable sources, making the entire campus’ power source 100% green.

Green Living magazine defines sustainability as: “...the process of change in which the exploitation of resources, the direction of investments, the orientation of technological development, and the institutional change are all in harmony and enhance both current and future potential to meet human needs and aspirations.” Any Prescott College student can likely name a half-dozen ways sustainability is a part of everyday life on campus, and the college is considered a leading provider of both graduate and undergrad programs in areas of sustainability studies.
